Success rate

Acupuncture & Chinese Medical Center has developed successful method of acupuncture combining electro- acupuncture and traditional acupuncture whose points are selected based on individual conditions, to assist couples who desire to conceive naturally, or with the assistance of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) or Intro-Uterine Insemination (IUI). These acupuncture treatments are implemented according to each patient’s presenting pattern and desired method of conception.

Acupuncture & Chinese Medical Center success rate was 82.75%, based on her study of 120 infertile patients of IVF. This is more than double the average success rate in the U.S. for IVF (The Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention cite a 41% success rate for IVF ). For couples who want a natural pregnancy, the success rate is higher if both partners are treated. In Western medicine, male imbalances are usually not fully evaluated or are ignored.

Course of treatment

During your first appointment we will discuss your health history, fertility journey and any fertility testing and treatments you may have received. From Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, we highly recommend that both female and male partners (when applicable) to see us. For male partner, treatment can improve the quantity and quality of sperm and improves the overall quality of the semen, it increases the chances of creating a healthy, viable embryo and assist in a more secure implantation. We will then set up your treatment plan based on your specific diagnosis through the evaluation, which might include acupuncture, possible herbal formulas, and nutritional recommendations.

At any phase of trying to conceive naturally or through the help of IUI/IVF, acupuncture treatment is very helpful, base on our practitioner's clinical experience, treatment begins well in advance of trying to get conceived or undergoing any ART fertility treatment will have better/optimum result. If patient is able, we recommend starting acupuncture at least 3 months in advance of IUI/IVF treatment to allow your body to balance the hormones, improve the quality/quantity of eggs and sperms.

During the treatment process, we will reassess the progress of the acupuncture infertility treatments, and make adjustments base on how patient's body changes and work according to any fertility treatment calenders.
