A Urinary Tract Infection is an infection that begins in your urinary system. Your urinary system is composed of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Any part of your urinary system can become infected, but most infections involve the lower urinary tract -- the urethra and the bladder. The bladder infection is known as Cystitis.

Women are at greater risk of developing a Urinary Tract Infection than men. A Urinary Tract Infection limited to your bladder can be painful and annoying.

How does acupuncture work for Urinary Tract Infection / Bladder Infection (Cystitis)?

Acupuncture improves circulation of energy and blood in the lower abdomen to help reduce the residual level in the bladder. Acupuncture can also reduce the severity of urinary tract infection and bladder infection, reduce or get rid of the pain, increase the healing and prevent them from recurring.

Course of treatment

There are 10-15 acupuncture sessions in one course of treatment. Treatment frequency depends on individual condition. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
