Auxiliary Methods of Acupuncture

Electrical Acupuncture

It is a low-frequency electrical impulse applied to the needles once they are inserted in the acupuncture points, it generates continuous electric pulses to the needles. This method regulates the flow of energy, patient will feel even vibration. This treatment is used in: sever pain and numbness, vomiting due to chemotherapy etc.

Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine based on the idea that the ear is a microsystem of the entire body represented on the auricle, the outer portion of the ear. Ailments of the entire body are assumed to be treatable by stimulation of the surface of the ear exclusively.

Scalp Acupuncture

Scalp acupuncture aim is to stimulate the diseased area of the brain in order to facilitate a return of function in that area. This method is based on elementary functional neruoanatomy, the scalp points are representations of the underlying functional areas of the brain. It is commonly used for stroke, severe head injuries, abdominal pain, and other variety of conditions.

Cupping

A method that applies suction and creates a vacuum, by applying glass cups which stimulate the flow of blood. It has the function of warming and promoting the free flow of energy in the meridians, dispelling cold dampness, diminishing swellings and pains. Cupping can be applied in combination with acupuncture needling or herb treatment. It has been used with positive results as part of therapy including but not limited to: pain, gastrointestinal disorders such as stomachache, vomiting, and diarrhea and the lung disease such as cough and asthma, etc.

TDP Lamp

The premise of the lamp is that emission of heat increases microcirculation and loosens fascia to accelerate the natural healing processes of the body. The TDP lamp is used as a therapeutic substitute for moxabustion, a traditional Chinese therapy. By using the lamp patients feel warmth, it has been clinically show to promote micro-circulation, and remove waste products. It have been used but not limited to: arthritis, joint pain, dermatitis, edema, diarrhea, irregular menstruation, etc. 

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is the application of using bound moxa to applying the resulting heat to specific acupuncture points on the body. The heat increase the flow of vital energy throughout the body via the meridians and provides power for human body so as to invigorate immune or prosthetic factors in human body to relieve patient's disease.
